Built for exploration

Keep your progress in view.

Loaded comments, more-comment controls and opened replies stay together beside the results.

Public data only

No social account login.

SearchComments works with public video URLs. It never asks for a TikTok or YouTube password.

Free workspace

Search and basic CSV are available now.

Downloads have a visible row limit. Larger and custom jobs belong to the separate paid Exporter workflow.

How to find a comment on one YouTube video

  1. Paste the public video link. A public YouTube Short works too.
  2. Load the conversation you need. Use Load more when available. Open relevant reply threads to read the answers and context.
  3. Search text or an author name. Start with a distinctive phrase, then add date, likes or question filters if useful. Download the current view as a basic CSV.
Two different searches

To find product questions, search comment text for where and enable Questions. To find a commenter, enter part of their returned display name in Search author. Searching an author name does not require that name to appear in the comment text.

Search applies to loaded rows. A zero-match result does not prove the comment is absent from the entire video. Browser Find also only searches text currently rendered on the page.

Free CSV downloads and limits

Download up to 100 rows from your current filtered view without a SearchComments account. The basic CSV includes loaded replies belonging to matching top-level comments, within that same row limit. It does not collect the entire video automatically.

For a larger file or a choice of export fields, use the separate YouTube Comment Exporter with a SearchComments account and credits.

YouTube comment search questions

Is this a comment finder or a comment viewer?

Both describe this workflow: view the public comments returned for one video, then find a phrase or author name within those rows. It does not search every video on YouTube.

Can I search by username?

The author field matches returned display names, ignoring capitalization. It is not an exact @username lookup, and display names can change or be shared by different people. This does not reveal someone’s account-wide comment history.

Can I search replies?

The search fields filter loaded top-level comments. Open a matching comment’s reply thread to read available replies. The basic CSV also includes loaded replies belonging to matching parent comments, within its row limit; reply text is not independently filtered by the search fields.

Is searching and downloading free?

Yes. Read, search and filter without a SearchComments account, and download a free basic CSV of up to 100 current-view rows. Retrieval limits are shown in the workspace. Larger or custom files use the separate YouTube Comment Exporter with account credits.

Do I need a YouTube account?

No YouTube account or password is required for an accessible public video. The free workspace also needs no SearchComments sign-in. Advanced export jobs require a SearchComments account and credits.

Does this download the video?

No. The CSV contains comment data, not the video or audio.

Why might a comment be missing?

It may not have loaded yet, may be hidden by your filters, or may be deleted, restricted or unavailable from the source. Private comments and comments held for review cannot be exposed by this public-video tool.
